In early April the Advertiser revealed that the NHS is considering plans to close more services at St Marks and move them to the distant and already overcrowded hospital at Wexham.
Councillor Kathy Newbound said “It’s very worrying. They haven’t specified which services could go. Lib Dems have supported Maidenhead residents for years and years in their fight to maintain NHS hospital services in Maidenhead”. Worst of all the NHS is considering selling land and buildings at St Marks. Kathy said “Once it’s gone, it’s gone, if they sell off the land then that will never come back. The Council must fight this all the way.”
