Save Maidenhead Post Office

Local Lib Dems have launched a campaign to stop Maidenhead Post Office being closed.

The Post Office has named Maidenhead on a list of 42 Post Offices whose future is up for consultation.

Local Lib Dem Simon Bond says, “The Post Office will not even give the reason for the inclusion of Maidenhead on the list.”

The Post Office have said that they will conduct a search for a suitable “franchise partner” to run a post office in Maidenhead from another location, followed by a six week public consultation.

It is unclear what the result of this could be, but one outcome could be for WHSmith, which has a store in the Nicholsons Centre, to step in, as has been done in several towns and cities throughout the UK.

Local Lib Dem Simon Bond says, “The Post Office will not even give the reason for the inclusion of Maidenhead on the list.”

“I have always thought that Maidenhead was a well used Post Office so am shocked that it has been included in the list.”

“Please sign our petition below to show the Post Office how valuable we think this vital facility is to our community.”

We, the undersigned, believe the Maidenhead Post Office provides a vital service to the local community. We call on the Post Office to maintain this vital community asset and not close our Post Office
