Stop The Sell Off

Update:

So far the Conservatives are

  • Consulting on closing Gardner House Day Centre
  • Sold off the land that used to be the Nursery School in Lincoln Road
  • Consulting on selling off the Windsor Fire Station
Libraries, Leisure Centres, Day Centres for the elderly infirm and youth centres could well be closed or put up for sale if the Conservatives stay in control of the Borough Council.
The Conservatives have repeatedly declared that they do not think services should be subsidized or run by the council. One Tory councillor said “It is not the job of the council to pay for services to residents”. This principle would lead to the council selling many services:
  •  Libraries
  •  Leisure centres
  • Youth centres for our young people
  • Day Centres for our elderly infirm
  • Children Centres for new parents
We the undersigned oppose any moves to sell off our well used community facilities including our libraries, day centres, youth centres, leisure centres, children centres and car parks
