Green and tidy – the aim for the latest community clean-up

The latest Community Clean-up, a scheme started by the Liberal Democrats, will be in Ascot on Monday 3 September.

Ascot residents are invited to join Royal Borough community wardens, members of the community safety team and volunteer police cadets (VPC) for the start of the clean-up at 9.30am.

Brian Martin, community safety manager, said: “The area chosen for the latest community clean-up is generally clean and tidy but we want to make sure it stays that way and is really ‘green and tidy’.

“Clean-up days are great – but the effort must be sustained throughout the year. Community wardens work with their local community all year round to instill pride in the area and I am pleased that once again they have taken the initiative and organised a clean-up. We hope that having a cleaner community will help reduce crime and anti-social behaviour.

“Please come along on the day and support the community and make it greener, cleaner and more pleasant for everyone.”
